We will teach you everything you need to know, regarding access rights under state and federal law. We assist you in training your dog in public places, so you have a well- behaved dog that helps you tailored to your situation. We will show you teaching him specific skills, such as medical alert, helping you with PTSD, or picking up objects, depending on your disability.
If suited for service work, your can put your own dog to work, or we assist you picking out a dog from a shelter or rescue group, and prepare him for the job. The majority of dogs are very eager to perform a job for you, rather than staying bored at home.
The average training program is in general at least 9 months, with daily reinforcement. Depending on your disability, and how many skills your dog has to learn, the training could take up to 1.5 to 2 years. (Puppies, adolescents, and adult dogs with behavior problems will take longer in general.)
Ralph Clever Working Dogs & Rehabilitation, LLC will certify your Service Dog at the end of the program by our company, considering all training skills (disability and public access skills) are met, according to the ADA. Please note, that a certification is not required by ADA; however, some states have additional laws; or airlines, apartment complexes etc. might require a certification from a dog training company, or an organization to assure the dog had the proper training!
